Class description

17th April - 10th July 2024 12 class term NO class 29th May Learning through art, why bringing your young child to art class is so important. • An opportunity to socialise - learning values, beliefs, and behaviours & the rules that for a better coexistence, developing feelings and relationships. • Sensory exposure - Sensory development enhances the use of your child’s senses by incorporating different colours, textures, noises and more into their early education. This holistic learning process encourages children to play safely and engage with their surroundings as well as improve their brain development. • Tools - Introducing children to tools, such as scissors, pencil sharpeners and hole punchers (knives and forks during meals times) allows them to use them and understand them, so they do not become dangerous or used incorrectly as they grow up. An opportunity to be together! And no tidying up! I get told by many parents they struggle to do art at home. They feel they buy loads of art materials that get wasted or their child only sits for a few seconds, then they are left with heaps of mess. My art classes allow to leave that stress behind and for you and your child to just to enjoy the 45 minutes together. With the distractions of life, work and home, my pre school art classes are an opportunity to be together with your child and be creative and to create moment together. ‘Does my child need to sit on my lap?’ Allowing your child to sit on your lap when they are small, will give them a sense of comfort and safety. This will make them feel secure, letting them enjoy and take part in the art activities. When your child is small and still exploring, they are welcome to leave the room for a break, to then re-join the table. Encouraging your child to re-join the group and sit back at the table (on or off your lap) will each time, is challenging but worth it as they realise they can join in with the activities, when sitting down. This behaviour is incredibly important with their learning in and around the home, socially and in education. When the child gets older and more confident, then encourage them to sit on a chair next to you. ‘Is my one year old too young to attend your pre school art classes?’ I am a true believer that art classes for little artists should start as soon as possible. The younger a child is exposed to different forms of development, their skills and confidence grow strong, helping them in other parts of the learning.
